Spending Money

Money in Fiji

  • The project is fully inclusive of all accommodation, transport and meals throughout the duration of the 6 weeks.
  • You may wish to bring spending money to purchase items of a personal nature such as extra drinks at resorts, snacks, replenishing toiletries or purchasing souvenirs etc.
  • The amount you may spend on the above items is of course optional and based on personal choice.
  • Any time before or after the project dates, for example should you wish to arrive in Fiji a day or more early or stay beyond the project end date, would be self-funded.
  • The currency in Fiji is the Fiji Dollar.
  • It is not necessary to take Fijian dollars with you, you can withdraw money within Fiji using ATM machines in the towns, resorts and at the airport. You can withdraw money as you land at Fiji’s international airports using ATM and many resorts also accept card payments
  • We do not advise carrying large amounts of cash or pre-ordering money. Prepaid ‘charge cards’ and travellers cheques are also not advisable and are not commonly accepted.

Emergencies

  • We advise all travellers to have access to funds (debit or credit card) in case of emergencies such as hospital visits
