Booking your own insurance…
If you are advised to purchase your own travel insurance, here are some tips
- Please check the policy carefully – read and understand any policy in detail before purchasing
- Ensure that you are covered for all medical expenses including COVID related expenses.
- Ensure you understand what the claims process would be in the event of illness or hospitalisation
Here are some insurance providers that have been popular with past Think Pacific participants, or which are advised by Fiji Tourism
Please note that any links are provided in good faith. We do not endorse any particular insurance company. Please check that you read and understand any policy and that you are confident that any insurance policy meets your needs.
Medical costs in Fiji..
- Please note that hospitals in Fiji may insist upon payment before treatment and ‘pay and claim’ basis for insurance. We therefore strongly advise all scholars bring funds in case of emergency situations.
- Receiving dental treatment must be paid for at the time of receiving treatment.
- Think Pacific staff are on hand 24 hours a day to support you to receive any treatment, including arranging transfer to a hospital.
